Changed the game by ... parlaying a reality show gig into a successful business, two New York Times bestsellers, and a TV show of her own. The 39-year-old Frankel first arrived on television screens in 2005 on "The Apprentice," which she leveraged into two Bravo shows: a starring role on "The Real Housewives of New York City," and then her own show "Bethenny's Getting Married?" More vulnerable and saner than her fellow housewives, she has been open about her past struggles with eating disorders and emerged as a natural food guru whose books and Skinny-Girl products fly off the shelves. In March, she got married and in May she gave birth to Bryn, a baby girl. She’s living proof that independent women can push against stereotypes and harness the reality television fame machine for their own designs.
Fun fact: Bethenny's new show shattered Bravo records; the premiere, which attracted more than 2 million viewers, was the most-watched debut in the network's history.
