Christine's Blackbook Magazine Feature

Post from Styleite.

Tavi’s First Styling Gig, Featuring Christine Staub
by Ruthie Friedlander
Ever since news broke that Tavi Gevinson would be styling Real Housewife Danielle Staub’s daughter Christine for Blackbook Magazine, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the issue.Tavi plus a memeber of the Staub family? That’s quite an interesting pair. Well the photos are out, and we must say — while we expected Christine to look stunning and Tavi to style creatively — we’re even more impressed than we had thought we would be. Staub looks like a seasoned model — her expressions and poses utterly professional and high fashion. And Tavi’s mix of eclectic designers and varied patterns is, well, utterly Tavi.

You can even catch some current-season items for discounted prices. You and your girlfriends can also enjoy cocktails, hors d’ouevres, and the Relaxation Station, a new addition that will provide the much-needed break that shopping till’ you drop can require.
Founded by Real Housewife of DC Mary Schmidt Amons, Shannon Haley, Liberty Jones, Barbara Martin and Jayne Sandman, the event has raised thousands of dollars for local charities. This fall, the GW Mammovan is the chosen benificiary. The Mammovan is a mobile digital mammogram screening service that has served over 19,000 local women to date (and detected 71 cases of breast cancer).

Kim G.-RHONJ Will Volunteer At The LGBT Pride Festival

Article From NJ.com.

The Jersey City Lesbian + Gay Outreach, Inc. (JCLGO) just came up with one more reason to attend the 10th annual LGBT Pride Festival next weekend.

Photo: Patti Sapone/Star-Ledger
Kim Granatell -- better known as "Kim G." on the Bravo network's "Real Housewives of New Jersey," will volunteer at the the JCLGO information booth on Saturday, Aug. 28. The festival, part of LGBT Pride Week, is Saturday, Aug. 28, from noon to 8 p.m. at Exchange Place in Jersey City.

"I love gay people and gay people love me," said Granatell. "Over the years, some of my best friends have been gay. I support gay rights and equality for all."

The storyline of Season 2 of the show -- which was shot last year -- currently has Granatell at odds with one-time best buddy Danielle Staub. Granatell, who in one episode donned hot pants and climbed a stripper's pole with Staub, is also friends the Manzo clan that hates Staub.

The theme of this yearʼs festival is "Standing Strong: Equality for All."

A rally for full equality on the steps of Jersey City City Hall will proceed the festival.

The festival will feature a vendor market place, an entertainment line up showcasing LGBT talent from around the region and a dance party at Exchange Place. In previous years attendance at the annual LGBT Pride festival has been more than 10,000.

Patti Sapone/The Star-Ledger Kim Granatell, member of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast, is seen at her Franklin Lakes home. She will volunteer at the LGBT Pride Festival on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Exchange Place in Jersey City.

"We are honored to have Kim Granatell volunteer her time for our festival. It is wonderful to have caring individuals like Kim G come forward to support us and it is because of people like Kim G that the festival continues to grow and that we are able to advance towards full equality," JCLGO co-founder and current Co-Chairperson Paul Mendoza said.

Mendoza further added "we are thankful for the support of all of our straight allies from housewives to elected officials who help make our festival possible."

RHONJ Publicity Making Bankruptcy Harder

Post from PopEater.

By: Rob Shuter
Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe owe creditors nearly $11 million in various debts, and the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star blames her fame for why she's still bankrupt.

"If she wasn't on the show, this all would be much easier," a friend of Teresa's tells PopEater.

"Everything would be settled by now, but because she is now famous everyone is using the situation to get press for themselves and humiliate her and her family. It's honestly got to the point where she's not sure if she wants to come back for another season."

Teresa's Home
A few days ago, new evidence proved the couple went on a $60,000 shopping spree not long after they filed for bankruptcy.

Teresa and Joe bought $8,800 curtains and spent $45,000 on wall hangings, mirrors, frames, tables and chairs, while at the same time trying to convince a Newark federal bankruptcy judge to stop the August 22 auction of their personal belongings. Judge Morris Stern refused to stop the auction, but postponed it until Oct. 3.
"Teresa is sick of everyone knowing all her private financial business," an insider tells me. "She didn't sign up to be on 'Housewives' so that everyone could look into her bank account. Millions of couples go through what they are going through, except no one knows about it. It's just not fair."

RHOA New Cast Photo & Video Sneak Peek

Article from Popwatch.

Photo:Quantrell Colbert/Bravo
By:Tanner Stransky
Lisa Wu out—Cynthia and Phaedra in! EW has exclusively learned that Bravo will officially add two new housewives to the cast for its third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which is set to premiere on Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET. The network will make the announcement this afternoon. As you can see from the first-look cast photo above, NFL wife Lisa Wu Hartwell went the way that DeShawn Snow did after season one—she’s no longer a full-fleged cast member. However, sources tell us that Hartwell will indeed make occasional appearances on the show, much like Dina Manzo did after she departed The Real Housewives of New Jersey earlier this season. Atlanta‘s season three cast is, from left to right: Phaedra Parks, NeNe Leakes, Shereé Whitfield, Cynthia Bailey, Kim Zolciak, and Kandi Burruss. Pretty glam cast, eh? As for new adds Cynthia and Phaedra, here’s what you need to know:

Cynthia Bailey: She’s a model who was born in Alabama, has appeared on the cover of Essence magazine, and has a 10-year-old daughter, Noelle. You might remember her from a brief guest role on The Cosby Show (she played a character named Sheniquah Watkins) or her spot as Roxanne opposite Sandra Bernhard in the musical comedy Without You I’m Nothing. This season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the independent woman will grapple with a marriage ultimatum from her boyfriend of three years, Peter Thomas, and deepen her bond with NeNe.

Phaedra Parks: This friend of Dwight and Kandi’s is an entertainment lawyer—specifically, the managing partner of an Atlanta-based boutique firm that works with entertainers and athletes. She’s a self-proclaimed “Southern Belle,” and does charity, which is a hallmark of the Housewives franchise. Her big storyline this season? She’s married to a younger man, Apollo, who went to prison for a “white collar crime,” and the ladies love to gossip about that. And surprise: Phaedra’s pregnant! Much of her time will be consumed with planning a baby shower. Also worth noting: Phaedra is from the same hometown as spitfire NeNe. Here’s hoping for a little from-the-archives drama between the pair!

The rest of the ladies have been busy, too: NeNe will deal with a rocky marriage and focuses on finding a career by landing a job as an entertainment reporter for the local news; Kim will do the music thing again, and even embark on a tour alongside Kandi; Kandi will reel from the death of her former fiancé, AJ, and try to rebuild a relationship with her cancer-stricken father; and Shereé will pursue acting—she claims to want to win an Oscar one day! Which means she enlists an acting coach. Good luck with that!

Overall, could this possibly be a classier, less wig-ripping season of Atlanta? With the addition of the “Southern Belle” Phaedra and model Cynthia, seems like we’re headed toward less trashy territory. But do you think that’s even possible on this show, PopWatchers? Are you excited for the news cast members?

Also, here’s a just-posted video preview of this season:

Teresa's Auction Generating Buzz

Post from Radar Online.

A reality TV housewife may be more of a draw than a Grammy-award winning songstress, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Photo:Bravo

So far, about 100 people have registered online with A.J. Willner Auctions for the sale of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s belongings.

It was originally slated to take place on August 22 but has been postponed until October 3.

The same company organized an auction of Whitney Houston’s tour equipment and clothing in 2007 after she didn’t pay her storage facility fees.

For that event, 250 people showed up and it earned about $200,000.
“[The Houston auction] was at a dirty, dingy warehouse in Irvington, NJ,” Michael Sklar, with A.J. Willner Auctions, said.
“This one is a beautiful home in New Jersey on a Sunday. So, I think more people will show up.”

He added: “Normally people sign up right before the auction.”

Making Summer Memories

I can’t believe how time flies! Last I wrote, Ally had just come home from India and now I feel like the summer is almost over. We have tried to spend as much time as possible in the Hamptons. It took me a while to decompress from the final episode of Real Housewives. I started doing Pilates again. I got lucky. The owner of a local pilates studio called me before I moved out here to see if I wanted to take classes. She got my number from someone I used to workout with. Smart women. I saved her message and when I moved out here I called her back. I liked that she reached out to me and thought I would try one session. We connected immediately and she really payed attention and cared. She let me play my own Ipod music. She loved it so much she asked me to put it on her ipod too! I think working out to good music really helps push you the extra mile. If you want, I can publish a good play list on the next blog! She got me motivated and I have been going 3 times a week. I have not cancelled one time (yet!) which is a big accomplishment for me. I have come up with the craziest excuses in the past. It changed my body immediately. I did pilates for 2 years and then stopped for 3. Muscle memory. It is true. It came back fast.

I wake up early, walk outside in my bathrobe to get the newspapers and set up yogurt, fruit and cereal on the counter for everyone to eat when they get up. This past weekend Lisa (my sister) came to visit. We walked to the Ocean (about 1/4 mile) and walked on the beach together for over an hour. We caught up and shared our fears and hopes with each other. We found the most beautiful rocks on the beach and picked out two. When I got back to the house I wrote Summer 2010 on each one to save. I hope to make this a tradition and one day give them to our girls to carry on the tradition. After we came home we walked next door to the farm to pick up fresh breads and more fruit and vegetables. On the way there we saw cows, horses, chickens and pigs. I drive down this street 10 times a day but never appreciate the beauty in nature unless I walk through it. I told Bobby I want to take the same walk with him tomorrow if it’s nice out. Bobby loves to walk and really loves the beach.

Bobby also loves to swim and can stay in the water for hours. I rarely do. But this past weekend was so hot and perfect that I jumped in. (Of course I heated it up to 90 first!) We had a houseful of children and it was so much fun playing with them.
Socially, we have gone to some fun parties and benefits, but my favorite evenings are with friends at home. Last weekend Indrani from Double Exposure was our houseguest. It is so much fun being a tour guide. I showed her everything and we really got to know each other. The most special part of the weekend was when she offered to sit with Ally and look through her photos from India and share some techniques. It just takes one person to inspire you or give you the confidence you need to be successful. Indrani offered to mentor Ally and that meant more to me than she will ever know.

It is almost time for the new episode of RHNJ, so I gotta run. Please share some of your stories! I read them all.

Love,
Jill

Bethenny's Burns 500 Calories By Breastfeeding

Post from Babble.

Posted by TheMommyologist
Mothers everywhere were incredibly envious when Bethenny Frankel managed to squeeze back into her skinny jeans just weeks after giving birth to daughter, Bryn. Bethenny gained about 35 pounds while pregnant, but she’s already back to a svelte weight of 118 pounds! It seemed so effortless for her to get her post-baby body back, and we can’t help but wonder what her secrets are for bouncing back so quickly!

Bethenny, of course, mentions that breastfeeding her daughter has definitely helped. Breastfeeding burns about an extra 500 calories per day, so it can help melt extra pounds…if you don’t over indulge!

The Real Housewives of New York star also says that she is eating smaller meals to maintain her figure, but she still gives into cravings, such as chocolate and Mexican food from time to time.
Bethenny also has a great workout routine, practicing yoga and taking surfing lessons. Yoga is great for keeping the body long and lean, and also helps maintain core strength, which I’m sure came in handy considering that she had a C-section. And I’m sure that Frankel works all sorts of muscles while on her surfboard!

One thing is for sure, this celeb mom certainly doesn’t have to worry about losing her reputation as a Skinny Girl!
