What Would the Countess Do?: Marrying Royalty; Returning Phone Calls
 Author: LuAnn de Lesseps

When it comes to etiquette, manners and overall good behavior, even celebrities need help navigating the rough waters of stardom! It’s a good thing Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York is joining forces with OK! to school them on the right thing to do! In a rough situation, we just ask, “What Would the Countess Do?” This week she tackles royal weddings and returning phone calls in the age of social media networks!

Photo: WireImage
This week’s OK! has all the details for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. Kate will be stepping into iconic shoes — any tips for her on how to marry into royalty?

Kate Middleton is beautiful young woman who has remained discrete throughout her lengthy courtship with Prince William. She is comfortable being photographed and seems at ease with the media attention she receives. Kate has had years to observe and learn the manners and customs of royalty and reports are that she is well liked by William’s family. She is known for her warmth and considerateness and will be a beloved addition to the royal family.

Tip: Being considerate of others is at the heart of charm and grace.

Mark Wahlberg joked that Justin Bieber has yet to call him back so he can talk to his daughter. In a time when everyone is texting, emailing, Tweeting, etc., is it still important to make actual phone calls? Or is it okay to return a call by another means of communication?

Mark Wahlberg asked Justin Bieber to call him so that Justin could talk to Mark’s daughter who is a huge fan. There is no substitute for a phone call in this situation and texting or emailing would not give this little girl what she wants, which is a chance to meet and chat with the teen pop star. I still prefer a good old-fashioned phone call to emails or texts.
Tip: Don’t leave epic messages on voice mail. Remember to give your number slowly and clearly and maybe Justin Bieber will call you back.

Think Twice Before Joking About Lynda

Post from Media Bistro.

By Betsy Rothstein
Apparently Linda Erkiletian can dish it out, but she certainly can't take it. Among all the housewives, she's got the most acid tongue of them all and repeatedly "worries" about Michaela Salahi's dangerously low weight.

Carol Joynt, a blogger who writes New York Social Diary, CarolJoynt.com and who hosts the popular Q & A Cafe, has issued an especially bizarre apology to Erkiletian, one of the beasts (er, "Real Housewives of D.C.").

Photo:Life
There are 13 apologies in all.

Erkiletian threatened a lawsuit against Joynt because she made jokes in reference to her modeling agency. Another offense was reposting Richard Lawson's Gawker recap of the show. Also check out this recap.

FishbowlDC sought comment from Joynt, who met all the demands of Erkiletian's attorney. She even phoned Erkiletian to apologize verbally, but the housewife didn't take the call. "I am not in the market for lawsuits because I am half a house rich (the bank owning the other half) and entirely cash poor," Joynt said. "She has power and I don't. I don't mock housewives to make enemies. I mock housewives because I want to believe they are mocking themselves, and in on the joke. I was wrong and I apologize." (That's 14 apologies!)

Joynt cops to shame. After going to great lengths to apologize, apologize, apologize and apologize more, Joynt writes, "I feel shame and I am ashamed for the impact my joking words have had on Lynda Erkiletian, who is a leader in her industry and in this country for seeking to abolish human trafficking and has called upon the industry to alert models to the perils of street casting."

Next up: Joynt offers Lynda her right arm. Lynda scoffs and replies, "I want both arms!"

(We're joking! Joynt would never do such a thing and we're sorry to Lynda to suggest she could possibly be so demanding. We're so ashamed of ourselves. We can write this 12 more times if she wants.)

RHONJ Will Be Boring If Danielle Leaves

Post from Babble.

5 Reasons Why Bravo Won’t Fire Danielle Staub from RHONJ
Posted by Lulu and Moxleys Mom
Word on the street is that Bravo won’t invite Danielle Staub back for another season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. So far, Bravo has been mum on the topic, saying they don’t announce casting decisions for future seasons while a current season is still airing. Sure, a lot of viewers can’t stand her, but I’m not buying that Bravo will let Staub go. Here’s why they’d be crazy not to have her back for Season 3:

Photo:Bravo
1. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is a ratings bonanza, and part of the credit goes to Staub. In fact, the hair-pulling episode (Ashley would probably want me to remind everyone she pulled extensions, not hair!) broke a ratings record. Viewers complain that they hate Staub — but they keep coming back. And that’s what tv executives like to see. Ratings speak much louder than rantings.

2. We don’t watch reality tv to see a bunch of boring moms partaking in pleasant play dates. Hey, we see that every day! No, we tune in to see table-flipping, DUIs and apparently violence in the form of extension pulling. We want to see The Crazy. And, say what you will about the gal, but Staub brings The Crazy like nobody else can. (Okay, except maybe Kelly Bensimon…)

3. Did you watch the Venice trip episode sans Staub? Did you yawn? Right, well, Bravo executives don’t want you yawning. They want you yelling at your flat screens and hating on Staub via Facebook, Twitter and the Bravo message boards.
4. Staub’s kids are cute. People like cute kids. You don’t think Kate Gosselin would be famous without a gaggle of cute kids, do you?

5. You never know what she might do next. Just when you think she’s done it all (illicit tape, stripper past, female lovers) she surprises us. And Bravo wants to be there to catch it all on film.

What do you think? Will Bravo really let her go?

Jill And Alex At Author's Night

Article from WWD.

Saturday’s 6th annual East Hampton Authors Night brought out the well-lettered set who mingled outside the East Hampton library and perused the latest publications of varying local authors.
Photo:Life

Madras prints and seersucker blazers dominated, though some partygoers donned glitzy jewelry and sky-high heels to tromp over the lawn. “Tonight is the night I’m going to topple over in these wedges, probably into a ‘Real Housewife,’” one partygoer said.

“The gang’s all here,” her friend pointed out, motioning to Jill Zarin (barefoot and posing for pictures with her small dog) and Alex McCord both promoting their books about motherhood and child-rearing, respectively.

Bryan Batt, on break from “Mad Men,” was also present, promoting his memoir, a reflection on his own “steel magnolia Auntie-Mame of a mom.” Alec Baldwin, a co-chair of the event, was there with his book about divorce.

Fresh from competing in the 62nd annual Artists and Writers softball game that afternoon, Jay McInerney was interrupted by a blonde guest desperate for his attention, insisting he sign her text with a little more fervor. “You know me!” she said, a note of hysteria creeping into her voice. “Don’t just sign the damn thing! Take a minute.” James Lipton chatted with Beth Ostrosky Stern about her new guide to canine-ownership, “Oh My Dog,” while Candace Bushnell fielded questions on three of her latest novels. Katie Lee, meanwhile, received compliments on her comfort food cookbook and talked up her new novel, a romantic adventure set in New York and Mexico, to be released in June. Clearly, Joel’s been doing a lot of writing, but what has she been reading? “I haven’t been reading at all actually, I’m working on my novel. So I’ve been staying away from reading anything so I’m not distracted,” she said.

WWD asked guests at the 6th annual East Hampton Authors Night what they are reading. Katie Lee came up short, but here’s what some of the others said.

Alec Baldwin
“Gertrude Bell: Queen of the Desert, Shaper of Nations” by Georgina Howell
“Happens Every Day: An All-Too-True Story” by Isabel Gillies
“Born to Run” by Christopher McDougall

Jay McInerney
“A Visit From the Goon Squad” by Jennifer Egan
“The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet” David Mitchell

Beth Ostrosky Stern
“Uncharted TerriTORI” by Tori Spelling

Alex McCord
“Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand
“Time and Again” by Jack Finney
“The Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli

Jill Zarin
“You’ll Never Blue Ball In This Town Again” by Heather McDonald
“Eat Pray Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert
“The Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell

Slade And Gretchen-RHOOC

Post from LaLate.

Are Gretchen Rossi and Slade still together? Gretchen Rossi and Slade are not only still together but set to return for at least two more seasons of Real Housewives of Orange County.

While Real Housewives of OC is splitting with other former cast members for its next season, Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are coming back. In March LALATE exclusively reported that the couple hit up the incredible Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. There, Gretchen and Slade stopped by 207 nightclub after dining at San Diego’s Island Prime restaurant. While taking time to meet and greet fans while enjoying champagne, Gretchen said she wants to do Real Housewives for at least two more seasons.

Tattlers tell LALATE that Rossi was ” overheard … confirming her participation in at least two more seasons of Real Housewives.”

“The couple also gushed about working together on the launch of a new make-up line called Gretchen Christine Beaute, saying it has been picked up by more than 200 stores nationwide” said a source.
Meantime, Peggy Tanous and Micah Tanous are joining Real Housewives of Orange County. Peggy Tanous and Micah Tanous fill the picture of a new O.C. cast as Lynne Curtin has been eliminated and replaced by Peggy, friend of last season’s new addition, Alexis Bellino.

Reports say Vicki Gunvalson, Barney, Rossi, and Bellino are back with production currently underway.

Danielle Is Not Even Thinking About Season Three Of The RHONJ

Post from US magazine.

Has Bravo handed a pink slip to Real Housewives of New Jersey's Danielle Staub?
Getty Images
Fuhgeddaboutit! Well, sort of.

On Monday, Staub, 48, spoke about new reports that she was fired from the series, and won't be returning for season three.
"Actually, I'm not even thinking about season 3 right now as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me," she says in a statement released to UsMagazine.com.

"Right now I just want to let fans know that we have a fantastic finale coming up next week and explosive reunion shows on August 30 and September 6," adds the controversial star, a sworn enemy to fellow remaining housewives Teresa Giudice, Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita. (Dina Manzo left the show in the middle of the second season after repeated battles with Staub.)
"Don't worry," Staub insists, "next year, I'll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love."

A rep for Bravo wouldn't directly address the report of Staub's potential departure either, telling Us, "We're focused on season 2 right now...We haven't announced anything regarding a third season."

Bethenny Backlash

Post From Babble.

Bethenny Gets Taken To Task For Bad Mommy Behavior
Posted by Rebecca

Full Disclosure: I have never seen an episode of Bethenny Getting Married. I’m barely even fluent in Real Housewives. But even I know enough about Bethenny Frankel to know that she is not the type of woman to behave the way other women want her to.

Why then, are people so surprised to see the way she parents? It seems to me like she’s acting pretty much same about this as she does about everything else. She’s got some strong ideas. And then there are the times that she doesn’t, when she’s willing to risk looking like an idiot (on TV). From the little exposure I’ve allowed myself, it seems like that’s the thing people seemed to love about Bethenny. One minute she’s bossy and brassy. The next she’s clueless, and a bit vulnerable.

Feel free to shame me if I’m wrong. I take no pride in my split-second knee-jerk reality TV psychoanalysis. But I have noticed a swell of Bethenny backlash lately, even from people who championed her in previous seasons. The negativity coincides with her new series, and may just be a result of a general overdose of Bethennism. But I do wonder if this Bethenny backlash isn’t related to how her personality translates to motherhood, and might say something deeper about what people expect from mothers in general. Case (or cases) in point:

In the past few days there have been several blogs complaining about Bethenny’s bad parenting. Clearly, if you let the world into how you act via reality TV, you’re setting yourself up for critique. But some of these crits shared a common theme: how Bethenny was failing to pass the Mommy Test.

One site went down the list of pregnancy and breastfeeding no-nos that Bethenny blew off on camera. She ate mussels while pregnant, not to mention bleu cheese. She also drank beer in the early days of breastfeeding. The piece implies that Bethenny may actually have caused her daughter’s premature birth with these questionable behaviors. There could theoretically a connection if she were drinking more than occasionally. But does a slug of beer translate to a regular pregnant drinking habit?

Another piece gets even more personal. This blogger watched an hour of Lost Footage From Bethenny’s Getting Married and can’t stop talking about how much it sucked. To which I say: DUH. When have you seen a “lost footage” episode from a reality show that did not suck? But for her, the problem seems to be what the footage has revealed about Bethenny herself: “Her questions to anyone she talks to about the baby are moronic. She really is clueless, and is the perfect example of someone who is just not cut out to be a mother.”

Yes, Bethenny may have many personality traits (disorders?) that could complicate things for her as a mother. But as far as I’m concerned, being clueless is not an impediment to excellent parenting. Being clueless, and acknowledging your cluelessness, means you are open to learning and finding better ways of doing things. Knowing a little more about kids now than I did when I had them, I still think I’d rather be a mother who’s always seeking new clues than one who thinks she’s got all the answers from the start.

And who’s to say who’s “cut out to be a mother” and who isn’t? What are we, paper dolls?

Michaele & Tareq's Blog

Blog post from Michaele and Tareq.

Real Housewives of DC Episode
by TMS
In episode 2, I was WOW’d by my husband Tareq for my birthday! He surprised me with shoes and a beautiful new grey mare horse I named Sparkle. What you didn’t see was that the week before, one of my favorite horses that Tareq and I loved, named Miami had sadly died of a tumor. It broke both our hearts. You saw Miami play in episode one and when we lost him it was really hard on us both. I invite you to learn more about my polo events by visiting: http://www.americaspolocup.com/ .

We were happy to invite Cat and Mary to learn how to ride and play polo with Tareq. It was a dream for Mary to get involved in our world, and to be included in the polo and the wine community. I met both Mary and Lynda in the 90s when I was a makeup artist for Trish McEvoy. I was flattered they both came to me for help and advice. I was happy to help them get a new, beautiful look then, and would help again any time they need my advice.

Upon arriving on the polo farm, Cat and Mary decided that they wanted to be a little sarcastic about my attire - they were upset that they were in jeans and I was wearing riding pants. For some reason they are always the type of women who have to wear what I wear. Silly really. I am married to a polo player - of course I wear riding pants. Despite that, I really thought we had a fun afternoon getting a polo lesson from Tareq. It ended being a fun day, and surprisingly we all bonded that afternoon, which I thought was great.

Yes, Tareq played a practical joke and switched out the Chardonnay with cold beer. It was very funny! I don’t drink alcohol, never have, however I thought it was all in good fun and everyone ended up having a nice laugh and cheer out of it. All in all, it was a great afternoon with Cat and Mary. I thought Sparkle was brilliant!

Later in this episode, Paul Wharton reached out to me and asked if I would be one of four co-hosts for his birthday, and I contributed by providing some of the Oasis wines and Oasis champagne as you saw with Tareq “Sabrage” (cutting the top of the Champagne bottle of with the cork and glass). Paul told me that in the past when Lynda threw him a birthday party, he was disappointed and upset that he was limited to only the 30 guests and could only invite 15 couples. So, I made his party big and fun. I invited all his friends and many of my own friends to fill his birthday with the energy he loves to see at our events! Paul's publicist handled all Paul's party invites and I was happy to lend my name to the party, along with the other co-hosts! Meeting Paul at The Four Seasons was never a part of my plans for the day. He may have organized that with the Shows producers to create more “drama”, but never discussed it with me. I later found out he used my name at the Four Seasons to get a free room…Breaking it real.

Lynda, as seen in episode one and again in this episode, continued with her obsessive behavior, ranting and raging about my weight. Good grief! Who cares what size I am? Lynda forgets that she says the same thing over and over to me about my weight. I guess there will be more talk about my weight and my alleged eating disorder thanks to Lynda. Lynda talks to everyone about my weight BUT me and I am sick of her not being up front and talking behind my back. That night she went first to my husband to tell him, "Get your wife some fries or a burger she is unhealthy ... get her some protein." ENOUGH! My response to her was, "Lynda didn't your Mother ever teach you if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all?!" That is when she walked away angry and said "more is coming to me." What is that?! YIKES!

I have tried my best to teach Lynda that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and shines from within, but Lynda takes pleasure in tearing down other women, which I think is wrong. I have repeatedly forgiven Lynda for her anger and hate, and have moved forward. Girls need to celebrate one another and build each other up. Life is hard enough!
Tareq was asked to do the Sabrage to celebrate Paul's birthday. This style of opening champagne is an honor that goes back in time and is fun. Just like the winning team at the Super Bowl celebrates with Gatorade splashing, wine makers and polo players celebrate with champagne and wine splashing! I love that Tareq is a true loving husband and splashed Lynda (again) with some more champagne! So would (and did) Clark Gable in the old days for fun or to protect his lady. It's all great entertainment.

I've known Lynda for over 15 years. Let's hope one day Lynda can actually pronounce my name correctly!

Get ready for the next episode. I wonder if we will see someone I care for betray me?!

Love & Cheers!

Bethenny Says

Go With Your Gut (So You Won’t Have One)
By: Bethenny Frankel
Many of you ask me if I could post the calories and nutritional content for my recipes. I can’t say that the numbers don’t matter because that would be absurd. However, the goal is to instinctively know what you are putting into your diet bank account, which I know that you do. You are educated consumers and experienced dieters.
The point is that diets don’t work. Obsessing, counting and worrying lead to binging, which leads to weight gain. You all know that a blueberry muffin at Starbucks isn’t as wise of a choice as oatmeal. Reading that it has 340 calories won’t change that. What will elicit change is you looking at that muffin, eating half or eating all of it and adjusting your sweet or bread intake at the next meal. Have faith in yourself.

This is why Europeans are thinner. Their portions are smaller, they don’t count calories and food isn’t their best friend nor enemy. As far as carbs and fat and the rest of it, my recipes all have health in mind along with taste. Cooking fat-free tastes like glue so I opt for low-fat ingredients and recipes. Whole grains are healthier than white ones, raw sugar is a better choice than white and so on. Go with your gut and you won’t have one.your lead and doing the diet bank account… it so works. It’s pretty amazing actually that I can eat what I want… I just space it out throughout the day. So far I’ve lost 5 of my last 10 pounds that I want to lose. 5 more to go but it’s coming off.

"Pyler Terry's The Dead Housewives of Atlanta."

Post from Atlanta Magazine.

Posted By: Richard Eldredge
For the sad scribblers assigned to cover their every sharp intake of breath, the latest "Agatha's A Taste of Mystery" show dishes up some delicious wish fulfillment.

The audience participation production spoofing a certain locally filmed hit Bravo reality show, running now through Nov. 3 at the downtown dinner theater?

"The Dead Housewives of Atlanta."

Well, OK. Technically, the entire title of the show is "Pyler Terry's The Dead Housewives of Atlanta."

"Yeah, we're sort of killing two birds with one stone there if you will," explains Agatha's creative director Ryan Girard, his tongue napping fitfully in his cheek.

"We just figured the subjects were ripe for a little fun."

In the Agatha's production, the reality show's Twitter addicted, wigged out blonde Kim Zolciak becomes Pam Prozac and Lisa Wu Hartwell becomes Lisa Yu who only speaks of herself in the third person.
The play's famed Atlanta writer/producer/director Pyler Terry, meanwhile, employs four separate assistants to perform menial tasks, including opening his umbrella and carrying his Dayplanner.

Alas, tragedy has already befallen the character based on brassy NeNe Leakes.

"Unfortunately, she's passed away," Girard explains. "Naturally, the other housewives want the case solved because if they all get killed, their show gets canceled!"

As usual, Agatha's audience members get to act out key events in the script along with the professional actors.

Says Girard: "The audiences are having a blast with this because they get to play some of the housewives and release their inner divas."
Between performances on Friday, Girard kept busy texting real "Real Housewife" Hartwell to invite her to an upcoming performance.

Says Girard: "We're hoping she comes and gets a good laugh out of it."

"Pyler Terry's The Dead Housewives of Atlanta" runs Tuesdays through Sundays at Agatha's downtown at 161 Peachtree Center Avenue.

Call for reservations: 404-584-2255.

For more info, check out the official Agatha's website.

Life & Style has exclusively learned that controversial Jersey girl Danielle Staub has not been asked to return for season three of the hit Bravo show The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
"Danielle was told that she would not be returning for a third season," an insider reveals to Life & Style. In fact, Danielle's finding out she was fired "came as a complete shock, and she thought she was definitely going to return to the successful Bravo series," the insider continues.

Danielle is not only known for her vicious catfights on-screen but also for her sex tape scandal, prostitution allegations, link to drugs and legal battles with other cast mates.

The insider reveals that Danielle is currently trying to generate interest in a spin-off reality series about her life. Danielle told Life & Style at her birthday party on Aug. 10 in NYC, "I don't know if there are talks right now about a third season of the show, but I'm more excited about talks of my spin-off than anything else."

Joe And Teresa Appear At Bankruptcy Hearing

By:Meredith Galante
The sale of Teresa Giudice, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, and her husband Joe’s personal belongings and their Towaco mansion furnishings will be delayed to October 3 pending re-evaluation of each item’s worth.
Joe Epstein/Star-Ledger

The stars of Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey" appeared in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newark Monday after she and her husband filed for bankruptcy in October, facing $10.85 million in debt.

The married couple fell under scrutiny by the opposing trustees in court because of the “shopping spree” the couple went on that included $40,000 worth of furniture, post filing for bankruptcy.

The dispute also revolved around items that normally receive exemption in bankruptcy cases, but might sell for an escalated price because of Giudice’s “celebrity” status, said Trustee John Swylok.

Michaele Gives Us Her Opinion On The Other Housewives

Post from Radar Online.

WireImage/Fame Photo
Michaele Salahi, the world’s most infamous ‘gatecrasher’ and star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of D.C., is responding to claims she is anorexic — and has her co-stars in her sights.

Proving the pen in mightier than the sword, the over-the-top blonde has penned a brutal blog in which she dissects a number of her co-stars and provides a cutting assessment of arch-rival Lynda Erkiletian, who has accused Michaele of being paper-like thin.
“Lynda takes pleasure in tearing down other women, which I think is wrong,” Michaele wrote on her website, adding she is “sick of her not being up front and talking behind my back”.

While Lynda admits she's had worries about costar Michaele’s health, the D.C. Housewife insisted last week she has never called Salahi anorexic.

"At the beginning of filming, when I would see her I felt that she had lost a lot of weight and I was genuinely concerned," Lynda said.
"As a [modeling] agent, I don't ever use the A-word, which she's been parading around and making up and the media has picked up on. I know better."
But according to Michaele, Lynda -- who she met 15 years ago when working as a make-up artist -- is obsessed with her former pal turned foe’s weight.

“Lynda, as seen in episode one and again in this episode, continued with her obsessive behavior, ranting and raging about my weight... good grief,” Michaele wrote.
“Who cares what size I am?”

Said Michaele, “I have tried my best to teach Lynda that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes -- and shines from within.

“I have repeatedly forgiven Lynda for her anger and hate, and have moved forward. Girls need to celebrate one another and build each other up. Life is hard enough!”

Michaele also took aim at co-stars Catherine Ommanney and Mary Schmidt Amons, who visited the Salahis now closed winery for a polo lesson under the tutelage of husband Tareq, during the most recent episode.

As Mary arrived, clearly bemused, she said "we were told the dress code was going to be jeans" when she realized Michaele had dressed up in riding chaps for the occasion.

According to Michaele, both Catherine and Mary “are always the type of women who have to wear what I wear”.

“Silly really,” she wrote.

“Cat and Mary decided that they wanted to be a little sarcastic about my attire - they were upset that they were in jeans and I was wearing riding pants.

“I am married to a polo player - of course I wear riding pants.”

As for Mary, a second generation Washingtonian who spent summers at the Kennedy residences as a child, Michaele noted: “It was a dream for Mary to get involved in our world and to be included in the polo and the wine community.”

Gretchen-RHOOC Talks To Cupcake Magazine

Q&A from Cupcake Magazine.

By Shasta Moczulski
We were all captivated when Gretchen Rossi became a cast member of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County in season 4. Her positive attitude, sense of humor and brilliant smile quickly won the hearts of so many. Gretchen, has created an incredible life outside of reality TV. A quote from Gretchen's blog, sums up who this amazing woman is, "I believe in encouraging and lifting people up." Two of her current and might I add, very successful projects include, Gretchen Christine Beaute and her new new handbag line for shopnbc.com that launched July 30, 2010.

We here at cupcakeMAG were thrilled that Gretchen took the time to talk to us about her latest projects, her favorite beauty products and share so much more. Her openness and gracious heart won us over!

Your line debuts on July 30, 2010 on www.shopnbc.com. What is your favorite item that will be presented that day?
The debut of the Gretchen Christine Collection on July 30th was a huge success! We sold out of many of the handbags right away! It really is so hard to pick a favorite because I use all of them and they all have such unique and different looks, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the “Newport Satchel” in Coral!

When you were creating the "Gretchen Christine Collection", what did you draw upon for inspiration? Does your Southern California lifestyle influence the design process?
Yes my Southern California lifestyle definitely influenced the design process! I love being a California gal and all the beauty and glamour that goes along with that. My inspiration was two- fold, my own personal style combined with my travels and influence around the world. My passion for design and fashion have always been a part of my life but it was even more ignited when my fans wanted to know more about my personal style and the handbags in particular I was carrying on the show! Once I told them that most of the bags were designer bags that cost thousands of dollars they would get disappointed and say “I could never afford one of those bags”. It made me realize that every woman deserves to look like a million bucks without having to spend it. I knew that I could bring high fashion and quality to my handbags without it leaving your bank account empty.
I believe every woman wants to have access to high fashion and good quality handbags, clothes and accessories, but not all of us can afford the designer names especially in today’s economy, thus the creation of the “Gretchen Christine Collection”.

You seem to be a positive, happy person. How do you stay so upbeat?
Thank you for that compliment! I would have to say is my upbringing (my family) and my faith that keeps me going strong no matter what life throws at me. I struggle with things just as much as the next person but to soak in sadness does nothing but make me feel worse, so I CHOOSE, and it is a choice, to be happy and upbeat much more often than not.
Life is way too short and I have learned that lesson many times over. I have one life to live here and I am going to live it to its fullest! Even when I am in my darkest hour I believe God will never give me more than I can handle and he will always be faithful. He hasn’t let me down yet and that makes me HAPPY!

Your makeup line, that was actually featured on Real Housewives of Orange County, "Gretchen Christine Beaute", seems to be really taking off! What is your favorite product in your line that you can't live without?
I absolutely cannot choose a favorite in the line! I use all of it every single day to do my make-up! I made it with the “everyday” woman in mind. I wanted a woman to look and feel her best everyday! So everything from the foundations to the powders, blushes and bronzers, to the eye shadows and eye products to the lip liners, lip glosses, and Pout Poppers, to the eye and lip primer I have not missed a thing that a woman would want in her make-up bag, and at very affordable prices to boot! What girl could want anything more! High quality make-up that makes you look and feel like a million bucks without the high price tag!

Music is also one of your many talents, do you plan to release an entire album now that your song "Nothing Without You" had such success?
Wow thank you again for such a nice compliment! I love, love, love music it has always been a part of my soul. My family is very musically inclined and I have been fortunate to be surrounded by that my whole life. I have been writing since a little girl and that was the most nerve racking yet exhilarating thing in my life to be able to take my very private lyrics and get behind a mic and sing them. I am so blessed to be able to have a support system around me that encourages me to express myself through these different avenues. I do plan to release another song here hopefully soon, but a much different type of song, one that you would hear in the clubs! I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!

Have you started filming the new Season of RHOC? If so, are there are any hints that you can give viewers about what to expect in the upcoming season?
Unfortunately I am not at liberty to confirm season six yet, but I can tell everyone that I personally have a lot going on in my life and I am excited about the possibility to share all those things with our viewers and my wonderful and loyal fans if we return!

What items can always be found in your makeup bag?
Well obviously my Gretchen Christine Beaute” products, but I love to have a little brozner, mascara, and lip gloss on hand at all times!

What is the most valuable lesson that you have learned about yourself while being on hugely popular reality show?
Wow, I have learned so many things! First, not to take myself too seriously or the show for that matter, and second not to be affected by what people say about you. When you sign up for a show like this people want to tear you apart in the press and blogs. I have learned to stay away from reading those sites and stay focused on my goal with this show…which is building a lasting brand that stands for something that I can be proud of. “Gretchen Christine” stands for empowering people. GCC and GCB ‘s foundation was built from the philosophy “How to look and feel like a million bucks without having to spend it” My goal is to empower people to live with their best foot forward, whether it be through fashion, beauty or internally.

Whether or not there is a Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, we are confident that Gretchen will continue to pursue her dreams and do so with a grateful heart. Stay-up-to date with Gretchen at her website , on Twitter , Facebook and of course, get your shop on at shopnbc!

Salahi's Police Escort Was An Editing Mistake

Post from CNN.com.

A Washington D.C. Metropolitan police car was incorrectly edited into a clip of "The Real Housewives of D.C.," a publicist for the reality show's production company said Sunday.

The information came to light a day after District police announced they would investigate whether reality stars Tareq and Michaele Salahi got a police escort for their limousine to attend a party, as depicted on this week's episode of the reality TV show.

The Salahis grabbed headlines as "White House crashers" after attending President Barack Obama's first state dinner without an invitation in November.

The party shown in this week's series took place the evening of October 13 at The Park at Fourteenth, six weeks before the White House event.

"Half Yard Productions reviewed all of the footage from the party in question and the police escort for the Salahi's limo was a Park Police escort," said Bronagh Hanley, a publicist for Half Yard, in an email to CNN. "The MPD [Metropolitan Police Department] car featured in the episode was not the escort car and was edited into the shot incorrectly."

Lisa Bloom, the Salahis' lawyer, concurred that Metropolitan police were not involved in escorting her clients, but didn't know if there was an escort provide by Park Police.

Bloom said all reality show contracts say producers can manipulate the facts, manipulate the video and there's nothing the talent can do about it. She said it really puts people in a bind.

District police spokesman Lt. Nicholas Breul told CNN Saturday that they were alerted to the episode by a reporter who saw the reality show on TV.

"The chief has asked that an investigation be conducted into whether or not there was any type of an escort for the Salahis. We're working to identify the car and the officer."

Breul told CNN that the department typically provides escorts for the president of the United States and other dignitaries, but not for private citizens.

"Escorts are generally used for safety reasons to swiftly move people, and those are generally dignitaries, from one point or another," Breul told CNN. "Generally speaking, there are no escorts for people going to parties or social functions."

According to the Washington Post, the markings on the police cruiser identify it as belonging to the police department's 3rd District.

Capt. Juanita Mitchell, the watch commander for the 3rd District, did not know about the alleged escort.

"I have no knowledge of what you are referring to," Mitchell told CNN.

CNN requested comment from Park Police, but has not heard back from the agency.
