The Salahi's Snubbed

Post from the Washington Examiner.

Thursday not only marks the premiere episode of "The Real Housewives of D.C.," but also the night a handful of parties will be held around Washington in the housewives' honor.

Half Yard, the "D.C. Housewives" production company, will throw an exclusive fete at the Madison Hotel. (Note to crashers: This one is invite-only.) Then, there's a party and an after-party where Tareq and Michaele Salahi will be "honored guests," according to Human Events, where fans of the White House-crashing couple can shell out dollars to attend. And finally, there's an after-party at Buddha-Bar D.C., hosted by local glossy Washington Life. (This one is invite-only, too.)

While there are five cast members' names attached to the invitation, Michaele Salahi's is noticeably missing, substituted instead with the name of stylist, TV personality and "Housewives" bestie Paul Wharton.

So why was the most famous Housewife kept off the guest list? We're told that the other four "Housewives" requested she not be invited.

Washington Life's Executive Editor Michael Clements wouldn't confirm, but told Yeas & Nays the magazine had longstanding relationships with the party's hosts "via our fashion, style and charity coverage."

"The event is not associated with Bravo or 'The Real Housewives' franchise -- it's not the 'official' anything. As such, the host committee doesn't include all the cast, or all the persons that might have played a role in producing, starring in or filming the show," Clements told Yeas & Nays. "Our party is just simply some D.C. friends getting together at Buddha-Bar to celebrate a pretty big national media event in our backyard."

Yeas & Nays pondered whether the diss came after Tareq Salahi threw wine in cast member Lynda Erkiletian's face at an event last Friday in Los Angeles, as reported by Crushable.com. Clements said that couldn't be the case. Washington Life had been planning the party for the past two weeks. E-mails to Tareq Salahi and Erkiletian were not returned by press time.
